In partnership with West Palm Beach's Downtown Development Authority and Finnish artist & architect Marco Casagrande I had the honor of co-leading workshops across Palm Beach County as a means of creative surveying.
Leading 12+ diverse youth workshops across our county within 2 weeks we guided youth to dream & design the 8 Trojan Rocking Horse sculptures that would be welded to life in just 2 months time. After partnering with local welders to make the youth's rocking horses become life size mobile letterboxes, each Horse was wheeled around the downtown city limits collecting the hopes and dreams of passerbyers.
We invited all citizens to reflect upon their living environment, write down, and contribute their comments and dreams for the future of the city. Collected messages have become building blocks of further action to make West Palm Beach even better for its inhabitants.
Trojan Rocking Horse is a mobile letterbox, designed to gather messages written from citizens to community leaders.
